SICILY. Syracuse. Agathokles, 317-289 BC. 50 Litrai or Hemistater (Electrum, 15 mm, 3.60 g, 6 h), circa 310-306/5. Laureate head of Apollo to left; behind, Corinthian helmet to left. Rev. ΣYPAK-OΣΙΩN Tripod with three ring handles, ornamental volutes below the bowl and legs ending in lion's paws. Jenkins, Electrum, O14/R18. SNG ANS 629 (same dies). A beautiful coin of splendid early Hellenistic style. Extremely fine.
